Una, formerly chatterbox, is a great childcare Center.
We actually think that the management change has been an improvement in the long run, we really like the new focus and in my view more selective staff that the change to Una has brought. I can only really speak about the Kindy room which out son has attended for over a year now, but our interactions with staff at all levels have been fantastic.

Most of all though, the Kindy teachers, Cass and Lawrence (and other great educators) are what make this a wonderful place to come to. They go above and beyond to offer an inspiring, loving, safe and interesting place for our kids to learn in. Their dedication is visible every day, the connection they build with the kids is so warm and personal, and they have gone out of their way to accommodate our son's higher needs. We cannot thank them enough.

Our child has been at the centre since 9 months old (now almost 3) and has absolutely thrived. The educators are caring, the small size of the centre makes it feel warm and personal, and the food and facilities are great. We’re really happy here and highly recommend it!

Una Dutton park feels like home 😊 The centre is beautiful and clean and feels homely the moment you step in the door. The staff are always there to welcome us with a smile in the morning and know all of the children and their families by name, it really does feel like a little family community. I have had nothing but a positive experience with UNA even given the recent management changes. The rooms are so carefully and thoughtfully set up and you can just tell the children are so happy there and are given the opportunity to thrive and explore 🥰

Overall we’ve had a very positive experience here. Having been at Una for over a year now in the nursery and toddlers rooms, it’s definitely had a few changes like others have mentioned in the reviews. But what hasn’t changed is the care, attention and genuine love from the educators.

Our little one loves his teachers and friends, and the toys, activities and experiences on offer. The chef is excellent, there’s a variety of food on the weekly menu, and our little one always seems to eat more there than at home. Having a good outdoor space was also important to us and the play area, sandpit and swings are great. Younger and older kids are mixed at points during the day which has helped with transitioning rooms and socialisation. The Storypark updates have varied in the past depending on which educator posts them but currently these are 10/10.

It’s a lovely small centre and we’ve been super happy with our experience and the support from the team here.

Proud to be a Chatterbox Mum ⭐️ Nyree was my first contact and has been incredible. My daughter started in Nursery with the amazing Bella and Belinda and now is in the Toodler room with Janvi and Malika whom she absolutely adores. All staff are wonderful, friendly and caring. Kirra is the queen on hair and Emma always making my daughter smile. Marie always welcoming with a hug and play and Sophia cooking up a storm in the kitchen always Egg free. If you are looking for a centre to trust with your child/ren that will not only care greatly for them but also teach them, then Chatterbox is the place to be.

FAQs

I want to be involved in my child’s learning. Is this possible?

We keep you in the loop each day and our Educators work with you to grow and develop your little one’s unique interests and talents.

We’re sensitive to the needs of families, and welcome and happily incorporate feedback from parents. We have an open door policy for parents, so you’re welcome to come in and participate as you wish.

What are the food and catering like?

At Una Dutton Park, your child will be treated to wholesome food every day to fuel their growing mind. Our menu, developed with and approved by the Nutrition Australian QLD Food Foundation, includes seasonal local fruit and vegetables and caters to dietary alternatives such as gluten-free, coeliac, vegetarian and dairy free.

What is provided in the daily fees i.e. are food and nappies provided or do I need to supply these?

All meals, bed and cot sheets, nappies and sunscreen are provided daily for all children.

What if my child is away from the Centre?

If your child will be away from the Centre we request that the Centre is notified as soon as possible. As the Centre is limited by licence to the number of children who can attend each day, we are unfortunately unable to offer a make-up day but we are happy to offer a change of day within the same week subject to availability.

Fees are still payable for absences with the exception of public holidays and pre booked holidays where a 20% reduction in fees is applied.

What if my child is unwell?

If your child is unwell and unable to participate fully in learning experiences, we request that you keep him/her away from the centre both for the comfort of your child and to minimise the spread of any infection.

If your child is suspected of having or is confirmed to have an infectious disease s/he will need to be excluded from the Centre in accordance with Queensland Health Time Out Exclusion Periods. What is your orientation process for new families?

While starting at Una will be an exciting time for your family, it is natural that children (and their family) may feel some anxiety. To help alleviate this and help children to settle into the Centre we encourage you to visit and spend time with us at the Centre. This will help you and your child feel more comfortable within the Centre environment and get to know our Educators, other children and room routines. At these visits you are welcome to ask any questions about the Centre and educators will begin the conversation with you about your expectations for your child while at the Centre. Please feel free to spend as much time as you choose at the Centre with your child prior to commencing.

What if I have a problem or concern?

Una at all times endeavours to provide a service that meets the needs of each family. We do appreciate however that there may be occasions where there is a concern that requires further discussion. Where this is the case, we request that you follow the steps outlined in our Grievance Procedure which is available from the Centre.
